What Size Should Wedding Invitations Be?

Standard wedding invitation sizes in millimetres and inches, which envelopes fit them, and what size to print menus, place cards and signs.

Invitations

A6 (105 × 148mm) is the compact option and posts cheaply.

5 × 7in (127 × 178mm) is the most common size and the one most envelopes are made for.

A5 (148 × 210mm) suits invitations with a lot of wording or a full-bleed photo.

Everything else

Save the date: A6 or 5 × 7in. Details and RSVP cards: A6 or A7.

Menu: DL (99 × 210mm) or A5. Place cards: 90 × 55mm folded. Table numbers: A6 in a stand.

Welcome sign: A2 or A1. Seating chart: A1 for most weddings.

Printing

Send the printer the version with bleed, and keep important wording a few millimetres inside the trim edge. Our downloads are already set up this way.

Each download is sized and ready for a print shop or home printer.
